A very quick visit to the plot this evening with some water and I found two courgettes! However, one was more of a tiny marrow in shape. The variety is zuccini and I was expecting them to be longer and thinner.....or am I just too used to supermarket/EU 'perfection'??

Looks like it is just natural variation to me. We get used to the standards that supermarkets expect to put on their shelves, and think all our produce are going look the same.
Luckily for us though, they don't
taste
the same ... :)
