Increasing my small flock
« on: June 29, 2006, 14:56:53 »
I have agreement, or rather I should say, encouragment, to buy a couple more hens to add to our small group.

So just ordered a couple of POL Speckledies to be picked up in two weeks when they are ready from the breeder.

Nice dark brown eggs through the winter I hope!

(Wonder what she would say if I suggested a couple of Silkies as well!!!!)

Oooo great!

I have a speckledy and she lays lovely eggs, lots of double yolkers though they arent as dark as i imagined they would be... no where near as dark as a maran's. But they are good eggs with good shell quality, oh and an egg every day too

Oh Jerry be carefull the more you have the more you want. ha ha
I love my girls, always thought of silkies as garden ornaments, untill I hatched some X ones they have to be near you all the time so I hatched some white pure breed ones oh powder puffs on legs beautiful I am hooked on them have 3 black bearded chicks so funny they are.
good luck with yours.

What about a couple of blue egg layers. We have some Lavender Bantam Araucanas for sale.
