Apple and pear pest and disease control

When and with what should/can apples and pears be sprayed to control/eliminate problems such as Codling moth and scab. My apples are currently at pink bud stage and the pears have open flowers.
Last year I had a problem with Codling moth and a couple of the trees (Minarettes) were severely infected with scab (according to Wisley). I would like to avoid the same problems this year if I can and have no problem using insecticides and fungicides.

We use the codling moth traps fairly easy to get from G/C etc.
It is a bit late for spraying for pests. February is the time for a winter tar oil substitutte wash down of the bark.
We use a copper sulphate based spray for scab and whilst not perfect it does reduce the problem.
