???Monty Don - Live Chat
« on: September 13, 2003, 01:10:23 »
"Ex-Beebies" may recall seeing a message from a HOST about a week ago on all the Boards (including the Allotment Board) that Monty Don would be doing a Live Chat between 9 and 9.30pm tonight.

So I "watched" it and was frankly quite bored by the whole thing as it was all about Ponds.   GW tonight was about Ponds!   I ain't got a b****y pond.   I got the impression that Monty would be talking in general, and found the whole thing a great disappointment.   I have left a message on the Allotment Board to this effect for Ceri.   It will be interesting to see if there is a reply.

Did anyone else "watch" the event, and if so, what did you think of it??? ???

Hi Colin

No, meant to watch it but got distracted sorting out bean recipes for 'Lishka.  Glad I didn't waste my time then, as I don't have one of those water filled thingies either.

It will indeed be interesting to see if you get a reply as certainly they were a bit backwards in coming forwards during the troubles  :D

Hi Colin, quite agree prog was fairly lack-lustre.
High-light for me was Chris in full length rubber waders!!!! ::)
The offer to have a 'live- chat with Monty didn't tempt me at all.
Am also very unimpressed by Gardening SOS- dumbing down, or what?

Now if it were Bob Flowerdew in rubber .......

Do you think all the gardening progs have been dumbed down a bit?  I used to love watching Geoff Hamilton, I had enormous confidence in what he said, he was a real gardener I thought, not an namby pamby presenter who didn't get his hands dirty.

Only if he wore his hair down! ;)
The whole TV scheduling is dumbed down, little to entertain the more intelligent, gardening viewer- did enjoy QI with Stephen Fry last night- nothing to do with gardening though :-/

Oh quite agree about the hair  ;)

Funnily enuf we have a BF look-alike locally, although his hair is dark brown.  He is a lecturer on game keeping ........ (shades of Lady C. I think?) also he has divine Harley Davidson!  This is way-off topic, sorry.

Missed that prog last night, on my way back from Manchester so didn't arrive until late, hopefully it will be repeated.
