This saturday eve 11 oct. Shed warming party!!!!!
« on: October 06, 2003, 19:12:06 »
Come one, come all. Start around 20.00 hrs GMT. Fancy dress please.

We've got plenty people bringing home made wine and no... I will not bring cookies (the ones they sell in Amsterdam I'm afraid only Oz will eat). The last party has been so long ago, I was due for a new pair of clogs again so I'll wear my new clogs, my funny pointed Dutch lace cap and inbetween? Who knows? I'll bring a jar of pickled beets.

Hope to see you all here in the shed then. -Ina

Nooooooooooooooooooooo, there's plenty of wine, we'll pass out before the party gets going and there are not enough wheelbarrows to wheel everybody home. -Ina

Teresa in your wetsuit, great but........... dangerous to go diving in your pond without a proper watch. Here in Holland we write 20.00 hrs meaning 8 pm.  Not having a closing time on this board it doesn't really matter I guess. Shall we try for around 8 pm anyway?

I can't help but wondering if legless will be wearing any shoes and if so, how?

As for inviting Dan. I just figured he's part of everybody, sorry. DAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! will you come too please? You'll be the guest of honor, after all, you built this wonderful shed.

See you all. -Ina

Sorry, but I am confused with the start time.....

Ina said 2000 hrs GMT, which is 2100 hrs Alpha time.

Teresa said 10.00 (which is 2200 hrs Alpha time).

So, if Ina starts at 2000 hrs GMT (that's 8 pm in 'olland) it will be 2100 hrs here (or 9pm.   If Teresa starts at 10 pm, which is 2200 hrs, the party will have started an hour ago.

What time will the party start ???

PS : can't come, sorry.   I don't have a Fancy Dress to wear even if I could  ;D ;D ;D

Colin, will you stop confusing everybody please? I thought GMT means Greenwich Mean Time, that's in England! 20.00 hrs GMT is NOT 8 pm in Holland but 9 pm.

The party will start at 8 pm England time.

So Colin, since you can't come, we all expect you at 8 pm not to be there! Pop in later maybe? -Ina

Could have PM'd you Ozzie, but writing this on the Open Forum coz I'm sure that many peeps are wondering the same..

Joy of Joys!!! Had long e-mail from Rosie today. Since the recent spate of Viruses her home PCs are well b***ered so she could only post from work...then they got b***ered! They're now up-and-running, so I'll mail her tonight so that she'll (hopefully) pick up my mail tomorrow or sometime...

and yes, I'll twist her arm to get her here - Lish, aka Mafiosa Maudie  :D

OOer, I forgot why I was here (Old Age is a terrible thing - do I come here often??

So, replied to Oz, but forgot what thread I was on...

This 'ere Party..don't know about inviting Dan...I'd assumed Dan was hosting it?? Wasn't sure if it was Dan's Den or Dan's Dive, tho...but 'spect, given the anticipated downswing in the tone of the postings it will be the latter???

I've had a quick look at Dan's posting of the site of his lottie....notice the mention of the "Grand Entrance", ladies??

Deff. gotta be posh-frocks...sticky-outy nets (taken from covering the brassicas), tights washed and laundered from their summer duty tying-in tomatoes and before they're used on the sprouting broccoli plants over-winter,  and wellies..

Anyone with surplus apples please donate to the spare Speshul brewing waterbutts, and the addition of rats/mice will be welcomed. Don't feel guilty at their demise - they're all part of the ecological chain...

Think the Site probably has 'facilites' so you've gotta think up Good Reasons for excursions into the herbacious borders..

But I think I shan't be here... :'( :'( :'(  - Lishka

I hope this will not be taken amiss - I've resisted till now, when it seems to relate - I always thought that legless was one's state after the party?

With great respect - Tim

soooooooo right Tim, that's where the wheel barrows come in. Don't forget to bring yours so we can take you home, otherwise you'll wake up behind the compost heap in the morning. -Ina
