The "innovative technology" is the micro-propogation of the very ends of the potato shoots. It is mainly used to rejuvenate stocks of varieties which, even though they may have been grown as certified seeds, may have become infected with some of the many viruses that potatoes are prone too. Micro-propogation involves using that part of the growing point that is so newly developed that it has yet to become infected by these viruses. If you feel you have been able to protect your potatoes well enough against infestation by aphids or other sucking insects then you can save the tubers as they will also be substantially free of depleting infections.
