Self sown tomatoes, courgette/cucumber advice
« on: July 06, 2005, 20:35:47 »
Just an update having been to check the lottie after all this rain.  My little infiltrator looks like a bush tomato so even lazier growing on my part.  It is now covered with blossom and I have some little fruits forming so fingers crossed I will have a totally free feast!  Will let you know about the flavour soon - pests etc allowing!

Also thanks to all the advice I am getting a heavy (?) crop of courgettes (13 tonight off 9 plants) and my cucumbers are now about 5 feet up their supports with about 4 fruits forming each and the side shoots all pinched out.

So thanks to everyone for your advice.  It has made this first season so far, a lot less painless than it could have been.

Neil (The Young Ones) once said "You plant the seed, the seed grows, you harvest the seed....You plant the seed....."   if only it was that simple!!!
