if you could invite any two peeps ( dead or alive ) for tea at your house who whould they be and why

oh no, I am going to have to think long and hard. Lots of peeps spring to mind for different reasons, but there isn't just one that wins the battle.

Jim McColl (from beechgrove) and Wyclef Jean (from the Fugees)- because while they are both very different, they are such charismatic and tolerant people that they would have good banter, and i like em both.

Could i possibly invite delia too so i wouldnt have to cook? :P

Well, I would choose AWT on the cooking front, and how about Bob Flowerdew... I think tea at the shed would be rather nice!

Would have to be two of my favourite peeps. My Nanna and my Dad (who died last year) Then we could just sit and have a good long chat, dad telling me all about his working life........gosh he had some funny stories. Nanna telling me what it was like to be the eldest of 14 during the 20's. Just lovely family stuff.

I'm assuming Mr Aqui is already invited to make it four.

I keep getting stuck. I'd love to have one last day with my grandad so he can teach me what he knew about gardening and carpentry and tell me about his work with horses.

And then there's Bob Flowerdew too.

But then I'd also like Bill Hicks, Spalding Gray, Kurt Vonnegut, Philip K Dick, Nietsche (or however you spell it), Spike Milligan, and many more I can't think of.

I'm just going to have to have a lot of teas because I can't decide.

It would have to be my Gran, she died a few years ago and I never "talked" to her properly. I've only recently found out that she used to make everything herself when she was younger, cheese, ice-cream, yoghurt, baking, soap, knitting, herbal remedies, almost every craft you can imagine. Before she died I wasn't interested in all these things and now that I am she isn't around to share her vast knowledge. She never wrote anything down that I know of so all that information is now lost forever, such a shame.

Oh what an interesting question.

One of the old plant hunters for sure - maybe 'Chinese' Wilson, these men really were remarkable.

the other would possibly be Paulene Quirke, met her briefly and she was a laugh a minute, lovely lady.

I think I'd have Julius Caesar, so I could find out the real reason why he went out unprotected on the Ides of March when he has to have known there was a plot, and Jesus' brother James, so I could find out exactly what was going on in the Jerusalem church while St. Paul was going round writing his letters.

I'd instantly say my Mum and Dad but I won't because I can't bear the thought of letting them go again...... Sooo, Peter Kay because he makes me laugh and I think he would be good for a bit of "serious" conversation as well (all the best comedians have a serious side I think) and Maya Angelou because I love her writing and she does seem to have a sense of humour too.

But oh, there are so very many - that yes Waggi I think hire a few marquees or a very big park then we will issue invites willy nilly and see who turns up :o
