Hi All - I have now taken over my allotment and been given both halves to make a full lottie.

I have a hedge looking bunch of small trees/shrubs growing at the side... I dont know what they are and wonder if they are a fruit tree of sorts.. Had some cutting down in the past as a lot of stumps and regrowth.

Can anyone help?

Googled dogwood and one of the species pics look like it...

Is it used for anything on a plot other than a dividing hedge? I can't find a use for it..

Purely ornamental, flowers in summer, coloured bark in the winter.

Get yourself a big grubbing axe then Grin It's a bugger to get rid of. But on the positive side there is always some mug gardener who will buy a potted plant cheap for their hedge. Pot some up and sell it to fund your seed acquisition disorder  (SAD). You might not have the illness yet but give it time Grin

You could always chop it down and use the 'cuttings' as pea sticks..just remember to let then dry out first or you do end up with tons 'sale' material.. Lips Sealed
