 Roll Eyes
OK here is a question that I am sure some of you can help me with.
My elderberry wine is that I put in the Primary Aug. 15th and racked into the jug on Aug 21.Checked the sg 996 on the 23rd and again today 27th. it is still the same sg 996.
Is this working OK or is it stuck?   Thanks

Is it bubbling along? If it is I'd say it is not stuck.

What was the specific gravity when you started?  Below gives many reasons for a stuck fermentation.
Did you try beating air into it- supposed to be a good idea by day three. Did the temp in the room drop?
Have you been stirring it 2x/day?

Actually, with an SG of .996 you may be done and ready to transfer to the seondary.
You'd add 4 points, I believe, to your starting sg  and read the % R-OH.  Or is it subtract??

OK I know that some of you must think that I am FULL OF IT, Asking questions that is.
Anyway I did stirr the jugs up a bit yesterday and this morning the sg is down a bit more maybe 994. Still no bubbles but I think we are on the road to some wine soon, taste a little dry but not too bad.
One more question. Can wine that you are making and it does not work as it should get spoiled and harm someone who drinks. I don't want to make my wfe sick with wine that is not finished.

Large quantities taken orally can result in a nasty hangover the following morning.

If your wine doesn't turn out that well then running it through a still usually improves it drastically.

Just a little note to let you all know that I took the 1 gal. of grape wine and the 1 gal. of elderberry that I had in the gallon jugs and mixed them in one glass 2 gallon demijohn. Put on the bubbler and now will just wait a while and see what I  get.

Good decision. You'll probably be surprised how good it is.
