Abandoned cockerel and new hens

Ref last post of 'abandoned cockerel' and our addition of 3 chickens, OH has just been over to put them away and discovered our FIRST EGG !!!!!!!! So excited  .
Was talking to my farrier this morning about the chickens as he keeps some and was trying to get some inside info on how to get them to start laying but it looks like that we must be doing something right as we have only had them a week now.
Hopefully lots more eggs to come !!!

Oh thats great news, the hens must be happy in the new home to lay, you will be enjoying eggs daily from now on.
