Can you recommend native water plants for a small pond? I'm rather getting into British wild flowers and would like to include many in my pond.

It's about 6ftx4ftx2ftdeep. And has a 9inch marginal shelf and a slope which will be quite marshy.

So far I've decided on marsh marigolds (should I grow these from seed or get plants) and ragged robin. What else?

Also can you recommend waterlillies for a small pond (don't have to be native, as long as they are hardy) - I'd prefer red flowers.

And anything I should avoid in a small pond?
