Not at all, all sites differ. Here you need to click on the 'quote box' which appears to the right of the message pane just under the title of your thread.
Hope this helps. :)

Ah I see the problem.
After the quote you need to 'return' a couple of times and then type. :)

And if you don't want your added bit to be in the box, type it after
;)

like this!!
Jim, here's another approach that will accomplish what you want; just replace the curly brackets I'm using for demo purposes with square ones.
{quote
}"What I want to quote."
{/quote
}Replace the curly's with square and the above displays as...
Quote"What I want to quote."
The code actually looks like ...
"What I want to quote."
... so, when you open a quote type ...
... and close the quote type ...
.
Feel free to throw something large and heavy if I've simply confused you. :'(

Jim, don't give up!
All you have to do is use the quote button,
Then you type your reply UNDER where the last
is at the end,
(on a separate line)
To check that you've done it right, use the 'Preview' button underneath where you are typing. This comes up in a separate box above. If everything is alright, use the Post button.
Keep trying, it's easy when you get the hang of it.

Jim you can now crack open the champagne / cup of tea!!
There is also a quote button on the reply form two to left of Change color box.
That inserts the quotes onto the page. You can either copy and paste something and then highlight it and press the button which puts the quotes round or copy text required press the button and then when the quotes appear press paste and the item is inserted between the quotes.
