Title: Delphinium seed

I have just gathered alovely lot of delphinium seed should I sow it now or wait until next spring?

For a second year flowering you can sow May to July.. :)

You can sow them now or in Spring but generally the fresher the seed the better the success, so I would go for now!

I've been sow mine this last week. As delphiniums can self seed naturally, sow them as the seed ripens, just like nature intended.

What will you sow them in? pots or the ground? I've gathered some seed from this year's blooms and guess I should do something with it.  I'm excited that after cutting the blooms back as soon as they flowered (except for one stalk to make seed), they have now sent up second buds and are just about ready to open!

Do you still get earwigs in the seed  heads - I remember them as a child.

I have sown them in a seed tray. Have put quite few seeds in.
