Black Opal seeds
« on: September 29, 2013, 11:46:03 »
I grew a few plants of Black Opal tomato this year and thought they was lovely. I’d been looking for a tasty sweet black cherry for ages, so I'm really chuffed to have tried these.
I’ve just put some seeds to ferment, so if anyone fancies trying these next year, I will have some seeds spare.

Edit - They won't be ready to send for a week or so.

I've got some early types I could send too, mostly bush types though, any good? Cherry wise Dancing with Smurfs is fun, though more mid season than early and Coyote has been gorgeous again, it's yellow-white cherry if you fancy? Pm me your addie.

Thanks Jayb! How about a swap for those Aeron Purple Star bean seeds I'm sending you?

From what I've heard from the gardeners that have tried the Black Opal toms they're definately on my list of plants to try next year.

Sounds good, thanks. I'll pm my addy to you. A few bush types might be an idea anyway. Looks like I'll give up on some of the old favourites but some have still been okay.

Should have plenty of my selection of Tigerella (a smaller but earlier selection than some), Golden Sunrise, Karoten (orange plum from Russia), Loveheart or Jaun Flamme if you want. JF was the best tasting one at a tomato show one year... according to me.

Mr Fothergills has the for sale, but if you send me a pm with your address I'll pop some in the post to you. I'll be sending these in a day or so, if there's anyone else who'd like some let me know.

If it's not too late and you have a few spare I would love some. I could swap for either some 100s&1000s or dwarf cape gooseberries (or both!) if you don't have them already?
