ALLIUM QUESTION
« on: April 01, 2011, 12:19:50 »
I have been tidying and weeding the garden this morning and have noticed that my globe alliums have self seeded next to where I originally planted some bulbs two years ago. What should I do with these seedlings? Should I pot them up? Do I need to separate each individual seedling into pots?

Decision is yours really. Just remember that all Alliums do not make branching roots, so any that are damaged when you dig up the babies will have to be replaced from the basal plate and the damaged one will die back.
Gardening is the great leveller.

You should be able to just dig them up and put them where you want them....just as if you had sown them and were transplanting.
