The Valley allotments in Winchester
« on: April 29, 2008, 17:54:53 »
I'd like to put the Valley allotment site, in Winchester onto the map!

Check here to see info about it:

http://www.valleyallotments.org.uk/

The Valley allotment site has been around for at least 100 years. Through lots of very hard work its been made fully functioning again!

At the moment there is but 1 plot left up for grabs. It measures 4 rods and has been carefully tended by the same person for the last 50 or so years...
Its in perfect nick and ready to go, any takers out there from the Winchester
area?

If you live locally and want to be added to the waiting list drop me an email?

Hi Andy, a lovely looking allotment site and an impressive website!

Ahhh, I spent many happy summer holidays as a child in Winchester... we used to stay on Sleepers Hill, if you know it...

Anyway, before I get nostalgic, nice site & well done for getting it all up & running!

Hi OllieC  :)

The Valley allotments are at back of the gardens on Sleepers Hill.
I know the place well!

This is indeed a truly wonderful plot. I am absolutely devastated that I am not allowed the vacant plot because I live in a nearby village which has no allotments. Andy, could you please ask the society to reconsider as I work within walking distance of this plot and could tend it every lunchtime and at weekends. I am just trying to produce some quality food for the little ones!
