I am after a grape vine for my greenhouse at home, black grapes and seedless if possible.  It will probably go in the ground as opposed to pots & I hope to gain maximum yield from it.  As I live in the North East and it is not as sunny as the south, am I restricted to variety?    I would also consider an outdoor variety if it would produce here in the Northeast.  I have found these:

I am swayed towards the Crimson.  Suggestions please.

To be honest I don`t think you have any chance for outside.

Indoors-try a google for a specialist supplier, and remember a vine can take up an awful lot of space so be prepared to learn how to prune them .

KT, I think you are pushing it to get a grape to grow up here outside. The problem is not getting the vine to grow but getting the grape to ripen, but they are quite successful in the greenhouse without heat.
What we do is to put the root outside in the ground at the North end of the greenhouse then train it through a hole up to the roof and toward the south end of the greenhouse.

There's a thread on this from last year that might be helpful, but I expect new varieties are coming out every year.

Hi there
Try www.deaconsnurseryfruits.co.uk ... they sell lots of different grape varieties all suitable to UK climate.
By growing in the greenhouse you can grow more and less any variety you want.
I grow classic Black Hamburg in cold polytunnel..I never close ventilation/windows and it is doing well...cropping more than we eat...

Black Hamburg, I agree. It is a desert grape although not seedless tastes better than most seedless varieties, good cropper and will ripen but not outdoors.

But I think it is meant for wine.
