Tesco - gardening things cheap
« on: August 07, 2006, 14:20:43 »
Our local Tesco store is selling off gardening equipment at reduced prices at the moment. Things such as fabric gloves, trowels, also fertiliser, insecticide and herbicide. Their soluble plant food is worth a look if you use it, compares well with named brands.

Sainsburys are selling off mini greenhouses half price - from memory they are around £7.50.

Has anyone seen any cheap seeds ?  Last year our local homebase sold all their seeds off for .50 a packet, but this year they seem to have planned more carefully  :'(

Woolworths were also selling their seeds at 30p a packet for their own brand and 60p a packet for Johnsons.  Our local store had a few packets left a couple of days ago

Our local Woolworths sells fruit bushes etc. Towards the end of spring they sell all these off cheap, although they are not too expensive to start with. I bought some loganberries this way which lasted for years cropping heavily.

I got Bill & Ben kids gardening gloves (3-7yrs) from woolworths. Reduced from £3.99 to £1.99. But when I saw them they were reduced again to 40p :o

I bought a few pairs for the kids, 30pairs to sell in our lottie shop for £1 per pair, and 40 pairs for ebay.....
