This is what it says in my book. I haven't tried it myself though.
Buttered Chicken with Garlic
1 lemon cut into Quarters
4 garlic cloves
4lb chicken
4 tbsp olive oil
4 oz butter
3tbsp chopped fresh parsley
4 tbsp dry white vermouth
push the lemon and 1 clove garlic into cavity of chicken, cut remaining garlic into slivers
heat oil and butter in frying pan and quickly brown chicken on all sides. Transfer to slow cooker.
stir in the garlic slivers,parsley and vermouth into remaining butter in pan,then pour over chicken, scraping out every last drop
Lid on and cook on high for 4-5 hours.
