Ren1 luffa question

Hi saw you mentioned that you are growing luffa, may i ask how you went about doing so ie inside/ out, sowing times etc. i have some saved seeds from the west indies, and would like to try growing them next year.

If it's the same as loofah, I tried them this year.  I bought 3 seedlings at a sale, potted them on and kept them indoors until they got too big.  I planted them outside and they just sat there doing nothing.  I think they would need a very hot sunny summer to grow outdoors or a greenhouse/conservatory.

HI

I'm definitely no expect so nothing technical about my approach!

Sowed the seeds late august becaus I had forgotten them.  They have since been in a very warm polytunnel / green house, except for a couple that got left outside early sep when it was getting cold before the summer started.  These ones died.

I have just been watering them as needed and leaving them to get on with it.  The survivors are a few inches tall although seem to have stalled in the last week & half, I am going to bring them inside as it should be warmer.

Will try and keep you updated on progress.
