Police helicopter overhead now
« on: May 31, 2011, 18:30:18 »
There has been a robbery in our road and a police helicopter has been circling overhead for almost an hour.  There is a park at the back of my house so they must suspect the robbers have run in there.

On Saturday an elderly lady was mugged in the next road by two men who threw her to the ground and stole her bag.

It's quite scary living round here.....

Police helicopters are a regular thing round here Betty, a few times it has come down really low that I couldn't hear my neighbour speaking across the fence. :(
MAY THE CORN BE WITH YOU.

Our local copper rode by on his bike yesterday, I reckon he was on to something as I heard the old sturmy archer gears click up a notch.

I hope they managed to find them Squash.
The ones I hate to see are the big air sea recue ones - I know someone is in trouble when I hear and see them out

Sorry no idea.  Though I did see a guy in a funny uniform walking down the road about seven years ago.

Saw a helicopter though, I think it was practising square dancing, seemed to be flying sideways.

You remember them ....They had a large black bike ,with s cape strapped to the handle bars, they knew all the local villains ,and all the local children, and many a cuff around the ear  from them for us children if you misbehaved , and another one off mom if you complained. ''ah'' a rare species indeed.even rarer now though.

Oh I remember now twenty plus years ago we actually had a policeman who lived in the police house in the town.

Same here, our  local bobby was a P/C Parry, a real old time copper.
I can't name one of the policmen now who are in our local police station.[if indeed there are any in there.] the only time you know they are about. is when they are racing up and down the main road with the siren  screaming
    Lol June.

At first I thought that mrrigsby meant that his area was so crime-free that they didn't need policemen!

The police do patrol round here, both on foot and on bikes.  They even hold regular meetings with the local community to discuss neighbourhood issues.
They come to our Summer Fayre and one year they judged our scarecrow competition.  :D

They shouldn't be out riding round on bikes, they should be doing drug busts and tackling crime.
