New allotment
« on: April 28, 2007, 12:59:04 »
Hi all I have just got my self a new allotment, about 2 miles from my house, it is a full plot and costs £13.50 year.
There is no shed @ mo, we have a stream running part of the allotments.
Some of the other allotment holders have wells, as the is a water course little way down and there is also peat under the clay.
I don't have any pictures @ mo, but i am sure i will shortly.
I does need a lot of work but the soil seems to be very good

Iain

Welcome, Iain!
You'll be the envy of a lot of us here if that stream means you have a constant supply of water!

Hi Iain and welcome. Does that mean you have 3 allotments or this is your third one?  How excellent having a stream!!

A stream! What a luxury. How jealous is every other A4A member. My rent is £20 per year but I would pay more for that.

no it is my 3 rd allotment, IO don't think I could handle 3 in 1 go.
As well as the stream we have a water course so many of the  other lottie holders also a their own well.
Not bad for £13.50

You are so fortunate to have a water source close by. I bet you will be glad of that if there is a water shortage. I hope you get some pics soon. I was stationed in Yeovil when I was in the Army. Go to see a lot of Somerset. Lovely part of the country.
When I get old I don't want people thinking
"What a sweet little old lady"........
                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"

The allotment is not doing very well @ the moment as been unable to go there this week due to work and the rain. When I last went it was about 2/3 foot high with weeds  ::)
I hope to go there over the weekend as I have four days off, I will have a few pictures that I will share with u all soon
