mantis starting part 2
« on: April 11, 2007, 20:48:40 »
Managed to get my 2 stroke mantis started easily on regular basis for the last week but last night same problem as b/4 no start. The previous occasions I had to clean the spark plug every time I had a cold start, worked perfectly well when warm . then it seemed to settle down . I first used the machine (new ) a couple of weeks ago does anybody know if this is normal or maybe due to another problem?

You could try taking the exhaust box off and looking to see if there is a spark arrestor mesh fitted. If yes, remove this, re-fit the exhast and re-try. Many countries now insist that these guards are fitted to stop any sparks from setting off brush fires. These always get oiled up after about two weeks and contractors normally remove them or poke a screwdriver through them to make a hole big enough to release the pressure.

If it's under guarantee, beware of voiding any warranty.
