Elderflower time that is! I see the flowers in my part of Essex are just starting to open. I shall have to ready myself for the creation of cordial!!!

I love the stuff. I like it with sparkling spring water :) Never made it though. Might be able to as we had plenty drooping over our wall from next doors :)

The elderflowers seem to be slower to flower this year, most
I have seen are still in green bud, however did find about 25 heads,
so enough to make a batch of something ;D

Wait until they are absolutely open to get the most fragrance from them. And make sure you tap them gently to get out any buggies that may be lurking. ;D

I must learn to be patient, but the slightest glimpse of an elderflower
head and I go mad !!
P.S. Why do they always seem to have a jungle of stinging nettles
growing at the base of the tree... :-\

Mine are surrounded by brambles! And of course, the biggest and most abundant flowers are just out of reach!
