Chippings

Hi
Whilst I am still twiddling my thumbs in convalescent mode my Governor has arranged for workmen to come and do jobs around the place...boiler serviced, new roof on garage/office to name but two.
I now am the proud possessor of two very large bags of stone chippings taken from the roof...I asked the chaps to leave them ...now I have them I am unsure of the best way to use them down the lottie
I am asking for suggestions please...keep 'em clean!
Would you believe my Governor has hidden my vehicle keys....and I thought she trusted me

A couple of thoughts you might advise me with...
What about...
Using the chippings to help break up some clay areas...would they be too big?
Using them around the base of fruit bushes to
a) conserve moisture
b) keep any weeds at bay a bit

Great stuff for keeping slugs off of hostas etc. I bet you have never seen a slug on your roof.

I use gravel on top of potted things to keep moisture in and weeds down. Might help clay a bit -but I think manure, compost or the like would be better or maybe a mixture of both.

Plenty on mine, that's where I throw them when they are found (frequently) in the garden - the blackbirds and thrushes make short work of them
