SNOW!
« on: February 23, 2004, 13:12:30 »
Hmmm, okay, nobody warned little old me!  Who said it could snow in Essex?  :o  Good job Ava had put my heater on in the greenhouse.  However, cross little old me, I had done all the housework yesterday, ironing, washing, cleaning, everything with the sole purpose of getting down to the plot this morning for a couple of hours before nipping off to get the boy from school, but thanks to snow, Ava took the car and left me on foot.  Mind you, I did get down the greenhouse and did some more sowings so I am happy-ish.   :-/

good god already? I heard it was going to snow here (slightly further west in Essex than EJ) on Wednesday - bloody typical as that's my day off (and therefore garden and horse day!) I'm going to freeze!

Snow! What Snow!  ;D

Great day down here in Dorset. Sunny and (pleasantly) cold. A good day to be outside I think  :)

Only downside is the frost. Took ages to come out the ground this morning, and is playing havoc with my car, which has to be kept outside and HATES the cold.  ::)

Well, didn't wake to snow, but did wake to a thick frost.  Dropped the sprogs off at school and popped up to the lottie with Raspberry canes to go in. BBBRRRR.  The wind was howling across the site, but I got them in so that was a relief.  Also had to tie in my broad beans, something I have never really had to do before, normally just do a cats cradle type affair with string and they are fine.  I guess it is because it is quite exposed and the wind has knocked them all down.  Anyhows, they are in full flower!  Lady on next plot has a wonderful crop of purple sprouting brocolli.  Hope she uses it and doesn't let it go over.  To cold and frosty to try and dig my new plot....maybe tomorrow  ;D
