Tea tonight!!
« on: June 16, 2005, 22:43:21 »
As this is our 1st year, we were delighted tonight to sit down to a fish 'n' salad tea made of new spuds, romaine lettuce (lovely), radish and raw grated beetroot (thinnings) plus other bought stuff!!

What a treat...I am still grinning!!

Congratulations Mothy!  Every time we eat a meal with home grown veggies I describe passionately what they are, then gobble them up!  I love it every single time!  We had freshly dug new spuds and our lovely Hispi spring cabbage with lashings of butter, oh, and a couple of fat and tender gressingham duck breasts.

Sounds lovely EJ.

You have to take some credit for the Romaine lettuce....I bought them from the Alan Roman site after you posted the link and they are great. Really strong plants with tender hearts!!  ;D

We had radishes (both radish itself and the leaves) in our salad tonight.  The first significant contribution to a meal and delicious.  My four year old ooved them - even the smaller hotter ones.  But she has always been an open eater.
