Another one to ID

Anyone recognise this? Unfortunately I've wiped out the flower through over-exposure, but it's five slightly overlapping petals a bit like a geranium, in a fetching yellow-cream shade.
Thanks!

A heronsbill rather than a cranesbill, then. A nice little alpine rather than the weed I was expecting!

Yes, I happened to mention it in conversation to my Mum (from whence it probably came many years ago), and she named it. I looked up Erodium and there it was, looking at me.
A nice find - I'm currently collecting rocks for a rockery in a Johnny Cash stylee (One piece at a time), so it'll even have somewhere to go.

At least rocks don't go out of date... so the assembly should be easier!

And just to put a spanner in the works, it is probably not true E. chrysanthus as the true species is probably not in cultivation.

No, but it's close enough for jazz - I can now say "The Erodium" instead of "the thingy"!

Propagate by taking cuttingsof the new growth at the beginning of the year. Ripe ones are much harder to get to root.
