wilkinsons seeds
« on: January 17, 2004, 12:16:48 »
Went into Wilkinsons yesterday and couldn,t believe their seed prices. Their own brand seeds are half the price of unwins and other main brands and even better at the minute if you buy 2 packs you get 1 free

Wilkinsons is excellent value... packets of seeds from 39p!!  they also have a really good range of gardening stuff at reasonable prices.. I just found wire fencing in there at less than half the price it is in B&Q!

I agree.   When I read Miss Baritone's posting was straight down to Wilkinsons myself to get some seeds too.  Very good value  for money, and quite reasonable gardening stuff. So thanks Miss B.   :D busy_lizzie

Wilkinsons is a very good store, their prices cannot be beat (unless you have got a good allotment association shop), anyone who thinks the likes of B&Q and the likes are cheap are kidding themselves.

Yes Wilkinsons are good. Dont have one in my town but i found the nearest one the other day and had a look.

I found some basic pots in various sizes in 99p packs: 3" - 20 for 99p!  8x 1litre pots also for 99p.  I could go on. Obviously i filled my boots!  ;D. Got some carrot seed also for 49p.  Great value!

Think our nearest one is Liverpool, Multiveg.  Al, I have some melon seeds that I would be willing to swap. :)  If you can pm me your details I'll send some to you after the holiday weekend.
Take time to stop and smell the flowers.

Just had to let you know that I went to Netto's and brought some seeds, they were only 19p a packet !
Only 2 sweetcorn seeds failed to germinate, but got a full house with the leeks.
Granny is still your best friend !

The Gaffer went to Newton's Potatos in Wolverhampton on Sunday (to buy a pot plant) and bought a load of seeds at 5 packs for a sov. Mostly short dated - use by 2005 - but at that price, who's quibbling. Some less common ones - like Hamburg Parsley, and all well-known brands.
