There are 5 setts of which we know, within a mile of us. In 21 years we have only ever seen three dead ones and three live ones. We never saw the ones which ate the thousands of tulip bulbs which we lost over last year. The local farmers do not want these setts culled as the badgers in them are free from TB and if they are killed then it is possible that new ones would move in brining the TB with them.
The genetic mutation which causes this colouration must be in the local population as the land owner here, tells me that this kind is fairly common
