Broad Beans

Hello People,
I posted just before Christmas that my Broad beans had not popped up. Many thanks to all who answered. Well they are about 5 cm high now. I worried un-necessarily.
The "Aquadulce" variety is outstripping "Monica" by a fair bit.

It's great when something you think has failed suddenly pops it's head up...

I heard Terry Walton on radio 2 yesterday saying he chucks his BB seeds in a sealable freezer bag with damp compost first to check viability, then pots up those that sprout. Might try it with my next lot.

I put mine dry into freezer for a few days. Then chit on damp kitchen roll. I will wait now until the weather forecast promises a nice day in 10 days and put some to chit. If the weather does not produce a day for planting out I will pot them up.
