Hi all, I've been reading up on hedgehogs after finding one out in the daytime, turns out they struggle to hibernate and if underweight are forced to feed to try to make it. If you see one out in the daytime in winter then it's in trouble and needs help.
The rule is if it's under 600g then it's not going to make it .
They eat cat food and so if you spo one take it in feed and water and if you have a local hedgehog rescue give them a call.
Here in rural Ireland there is no such thing and so my polytunnel has become hedgehog hotel for a while!
Amazing to see mrs twiggy winkle up close, beautiful!
