Maybe a bit of extra info could help. Is is a wild plant in a water meadow, cultivated in a garden bed, how tall? Where did you find it? On holiday abroad or on heath land in Britain? With a bit more information you might still get an id.

I thought Gaura or Clarkia judging by the seed pods or are they flower buds.
As Galina says more info would be helpful.
