Don't tempt fate!

2 years ago, redcurrant bushes in our garden, not a leaf, the redcurrants hung ripening like little strings of rubies.  I feared the birds would beat us to them as they were soooooooooooooo obvious, but they didn't touch them and wow was easy picking that year!  Plant didn't do terribly well last year and we only had a very small crop, but no sawfly, so things are looking up for this season.

 Looking round them today loveley little goosgogs forming all over tried to look for eggs of the dreaded sorefly no luck!

Bit early yet for them to attack, but on our hedgerow plants they leaves are removed every year with no sign of problem to the plants.

todays the first time I've looked closely at my gooseberries and there are loads of them, so exciting ;D and on the blackcurrent.

i looked a couple of days ago and nothing, i think its a bit early where i am. i use derris when i see them and it seems to work well.
