 Would I do real damage to my plum tree if I pruned now.

It is difficult to say you would cause damage but if you do prune now you have a greater risk of silver leaf, generally you prune stone fruits during the growing season.

 Thank you, just too eager to get going, can see what needs removing now but will leave  until next year.
