can i grow Melons and Cucumbers in the same green house as i have been told the fruits would be bitter and are they more suited to a polytunnel warm and humid or a dryer green house

Yes they can be grown together without fruits being made bitter (or at least they aren't in my experience when grown together) As they are both curcurbits they do get the same sort of pests and diseases though. The only time I had bitter fruits on cucumbers was when I missed pinching out some male flowers on the greenhouse ones (I think Telegraph), I've grown all female types since, so much easier

got a pot of melon plants from my local nursery today it had 3 plants in it i split them up now i have 3 melon plants for 99p never grown them before so i thought for 33p each its worth a try
