« on: February 03, 2015, 20:19:26 »
sorry to be picky but all the recipes ive seen have tween 1 to 3 kgs of sugar ....does anybody have a low(ish) sugar version that
us Diabolics can have on their toast.

Ive got a few lb of Sevilles in the kitchen that need a home.

cheers

How low is low.  Here is another also not tried it

http://thatbakergirl.com/2013/03/22/orange-clementine-marmalade/

There are also the freezer jams which do not need sugar.

Have you tried Food.com.  Recipe #338355 unfortunately no one has rated it yet.

Not tried marmalade but strawberry freezer jams are lovely.  I make in icecube trays or bags so you can take out one or two portions at a time.

I have just made tons of marmalade, a year's supply for my daughter's family who eat up a huge Helmans jar every week. I use Mrs Beeton's recipe which uses twice as much sugar as the weight of the fruit, ie 1.5 lb of fruit, 3lb of sugar. But I use just over 2lb sugar. Maybe this is not low enough.......? Bitter and delicious, and always sets.
