Manured out.....
« on: October 03, 2014, 20:43:29 »
After a summer of not being physically well I'm on the mend and decided to get a delivery of cow manure from our local farmer. He brought it down this morning, and although the two fence panels at the front of my plot come off, the manure fell short and half if it fell on the gravelled lane. That's about half a ton of manure, which took me five hours to move onto my plot! I could hardly drive home at the end of it, I had to stand in a hot shower for ages my back ached so much! Pathetic eh, that will teach me....... :sad1:
If it's not pouring with rain, I'm either in the garden or at the lottie! Probably still there in the rain as well TBH....🥴

I was hobbling like anything yesterday! I did look a bit smugly out at the rain now my huge manure pile is safely under cover! Now I just have to move it all to exactly where I want it, but at least I can do that bit by bit!

Quite a few of us on our site had deliveries this last week but one plotholder decided that it had been dumped in the wrong place.  He'd dumped it in the same place as last time, she wanted it dumped about 3 meters to the left.  So she made her husband move it, it took him 2 good sessions, a 4 tonne load.  They're post retirement age but he must love her like the day he married her to do that.

Deb P. I too feel your pain. If ever I do too much at the lotty I have a 20 min soak in an Epsom salt bath. Works wonders for me.

Unfortunately we no longer have a bath in our house! We made the decision last year to replace it with a large shower room as we realised no one had used it for years. The shower is a thing of beauty though and does a good job of relaxing sore muscles, my back has recovered a bit due to the rainy days where it has been too wet to try and move the manure to where I need it to be!
