White pickling vinegar
« on: August 08, 2014, 12:24:39 »
Hello all.

OH bought white pickling vinegar as the brown wasn't available. I've always used the brown for pickling my shallots and have been pleased with the results especially how long they stay crunchy.  Will white pickling vinegar be as good? Will it mean the shallots don't turn brown?

Thanks

I wish I could help but I'm not keen on vinegar so I hate pickled onions! Sorry!

They won't turn brown, they'll be more like large Silverskins.

Thanks Pescador.

Am I right in assuming it's just the colour that will be different and that the taste will be as normal?
