« on: January 14, 2014, 22:11:50 »
Hello all.

Is anyone else finding that the spell check is not working?

There is an automatic version which seems to be working, is that what you mean?
or the button which has disappeared in this software.
In other words there is autocorrect installed now.

Auto correct and spell checking is built into all major browsers these days.  IE10 and later, Firefox and Chrome have had them for a while.
If you don't have spell checking working check your browser version an dupdate or check it isnt switched off.

Hello all.

The buttton is there, but I just get a blank window when I press it. I'll see whether I can find whether it's somehow got switched off in Firefox.

Thanks

Thanks for that BarridaleNick.

I have checked and that part is enabled. If I deliberately mispell a word in a reply I get no indicitation that it is wrong as in the the wrongly spelt indication. If I do spell check at the bottom of the reply window it opens up a window that remains blank. Previously I used to be shown probable errors or have a spell check complete message. Any other thoughts?

Try disabling spell check in the browser as above close it reopen it enable it again sometimes cures things.
Also check to see if your Firefox is up to date

Ignore above found I had the same problem with Firefox and after investigating I found that you need to install the dictionary now.
To do  so right click in a text box such as the reply one and select language it will take you to a page with all the dictionaries scroll down and find English UK and  click the link to  install the dictionary then it works fine. (if it  does not after installing the dictionary right click again and select  the dictionary to enable it).

Finally the spellcheck button on the forum does not work in either Firefox or IE as you say. Dan??

Thanks for confirming that Davyboi.

I thought it was just me and I had a problem with Firefox and/or other applications.
