Topic: Too much apple in compost?

The tree on my plot has never produced so many apples as this year, which is great, but I'm putting so much apple residue (windfalls, cores and peel) in my compost that I'm wondering if this will be a problem?Is there something I should add to "counteract" the apples? I only have a dalek, so can't really spread the apple  around.

Have you thought about leaving for the blackbirds, field fares and redwings. If they come over from the continent they will Thank you very much!

I let mine rot on the ground and they eventually disappear - why go to extra effort? I reckon they enrich the ground where they fall......

I have left a lot on the ground, although I think I read somewhere on here that they can spread disease?

It's more the dead leaves that harbour disease; fruit is juicier, contains more nitrogen, and rots much faster. Dried fruit left hanging on the trees will habour disease, so if there are any, get a long bamboo and knock them down.

They'll probably end up on the ground if the met office is right about the storm on Sunday/Monday!!

If they have white spotty fungal spores I get rid in the black bin .

It missed us, and they don't drop off that easily. They may have disappeared if you were badly hit.
