 :BangHead:my mate has had her facebook acc stolen. Facebook hard to contact. Any suggestions?
Also her personnel details have been put on some unsavoury sites.

I never realised how defercult it was to prove who you are and to claim your details back.

Depends whether the person just wants to get the account back in which case they should reset their password.

If they want it investigated and taken further go to help then choose report something and then choose the most appropriate option.

Help can be accessed from the Facebook home page without logging in by the way.

She can contact them and prove in other ways who she is, it is a bit involved but it can be done as I was locked out of mine for some reason, it took a while and a fair few e mails back and forth but they fixed it. XX Jeannine

Get an unhacked friend to contact FB with all the details.  This is what I had to do.  They contacted me via my email address they had on account as my privacy settings were set so only I could view this, not even FB friends.  I would send them it in a text message or private message if needed.   I keep getting friend requests from people who I am already friends with on FB which I believe is a phishing scam.  I contact them via their profile I have as a friend and ask if they are setting up a new account.  They always say it is not them requesting.  Another way to tell if it is a spam message is by the amount of friends whom the message says has clicked on a link and won something or are all liking a page etc.  I never click on them.  Did it once 2 years ago and I ended up with a similar issue to where you are now.  FB reclaimed and reset my account for me in a couple of days

thankyou everybody, fb sorting it out. Because she got put onto other unsavoury site, she tried to sort it out herself, some sites responded other didn't till she put she was being stalked and the police were involved. The police themselves were less than helpful. But all sites now have closed her bogus profile down.

She believes the person involved is someone she knows from her circle of friends.

Anyway, job done, again thanks everybody.

Might be waiting for the hacker to do that for evidence ... you never know...
