No rain again.
« on: September 30, 2013, 13:33:45 »
So I was driving home this morning and about 8 miles away I hit heavy rain.   Windscreen wipers going full tilt, road covered in puddles.  Great my lottie will be getting watered.

Not a bit of it. Less then 1/4 mile from my lottie the rain gave out.  The last few drips on the road stopped, a few streaks of wet from the tyres persisted for a few yards but my lottie and garden are completely dry.

I can only assume that the Church here was dedicated to St Swithin and when they changed it to St Lawrence in somewhere about 1533 after Katherine of Aragon was divorced.   Then he put a curse on us, and so much of the rain passes up by.  Or maybe St Lawrence and Katherine did not like the rain and wanted us to be more like their native Spain so it is really a blessing.

There is currently a rash of showers around Southampton and Portsmouth area.  It will be interesting to see if they also tiptoe around us.
