TV Series
« on: March 08, 2005, 12:48:09 »
Hello. I am working for a small television production company and some of us are keen vegetable growers (have small children need good food but no money!) - we are hoping to produce two series about allotments.  One series would be about a dedicated site with a mix of growers from different background, ages, experience, reasons for being there - etc.  The other idea is just to have a bit of fun whilst getting over growing tips - this idea will be more about outrageous allotments, the owners (funky, arty) as well as about sheds, what's being reard, what's grown.  Both these ideas have come out of most of the allotments near us being turned into houses (mainly without gardens...) and we would like to promote positive things about allotments.  Can anyone help me with contacts or sites.... really appreciate any help.

Many thanks.  Susan.
PS Is it true potatoes and raspberries shouldn't be grown together - if so, why not?

Because your funky rasberries are perennials wheras your arty potatoes are annuals for one thing?

Ha ha ha!

The truth can be determined by Googling 'raspberries potatoes', this will detail diseases which potatoes can leave in the soil which raspberries succumb to.

The above explanations are far more entertaining though!  :D

Another tv series?

Maybe potatoes that look like raspberries would catch on?

They would have to take their shoes  before they started filming of on most of the allotments on this site.

Wouldn't want to get the carpet dirty ;D
