Who likes growing cherry tomatoes?
« on: January 01, 2013, 19:37:59 »
We've been given some end-of-season packets of seeds, left over from a garden centre.  There are quite a few packets of cherry tomato seeds, far more than we'll ever use.  So we thought we'd share our luck by offering them to A4Aers free of charge.  If anyone would like some, just drop me a PM specifying the number of packets of which varieties you'd like - first come, first served.  But please only ask for as many packets as you'll actually use!  All seeds are still in age for next season, and most of them to 2014 or beyond.

Here's the list of varieties.  I'll amend it to reflect availability!

Varieties best grown in baskets of containers (tumbling varieties)

Tumbling Tom Red (7 pkts of 15 seeds)
Gartenperle (8 pkts of 20 seeds)
Tumbling Tiger F1 (4 3 pkts of 10 seeds)
100s & 1000s (3 pkts of 8 seeds)
Maskotka  (1 pkt only, 15 seeds)
Balconi Red  (1 pkt only, 20 seeds)
Cherry Cascade (1 pkt only, 8 seeds)
Tumbling Junior F1 (1 pkt only, 10 seeds)
Losetto F1 (4 pkts of 6 seeds)

Varieties that can be grown in beds as well as containers

Sweetbaby (8 pkts of 20 seeds)
Totem F1 (dwarf bush) (4 3 pkts of 10 seeds)
Sweet'n'neat (3 pkts of 7 seeds)
Red Robin (7 6 pkts of 7 seeds)
Little Sun F1 Yellow (3 pkts of 7 seeds)
Lizzano F1 (2 pkts of 7 seeds)
Harlequin F1 (1 pkt only, best under glass, 8 seeds)
Pomodoro Ciliegia (1 pkt only, best under glass, 35 seeds)
Ildi (1 pkt only, 40 seeds)

Any that you would reccommend for our primary schools or special needs group, Melbourne. I've still got some yellow ones and some windowsill ones for them but, they do have some outside pots and small beds outside

I'd say the Totems, which form small bushes.  They'd go well in pots or small beds.  How many would you like?

ETA: Red Robin sound good for the purpose too

Melbourne12, I don't need any, but would like to thank you for your kind offer.
