Winter onions- is it too late
« on: December 08, 2012, 06:28:00 »
Have over wintering onions to go in. Have prepared the ground, double dug a month or so ago. Is it too cold for them now? Or should I plant and hold my breath?
Cheers Al

They will just rot if you dont plant them and may rot if you do... but there may still be time to get them going if you do them in a greenhouse in modules then plant them out early spring.. I did it one year at Christmas and got a fair crop..
Now a member of the 10 Ton club.... (over 10 ton per acre)    2013  harvested 588 Kg from 165 sq mt..      see my web blog at...  http://www.gavinconway.net
