Feels like we're going to get a wee thunderstormette here in Oxford before the night's out ... nice of nature to do the watering after a scorcher like that!

Could see lightening flashing in the distance but not a drop on the garden, and nothing on the lottie either, but there were puddles around the roundabout between the two.
Everything getting very dry here but the water table is still quite high so my rhubarb looks very bonny.

Lots of lightning overnight but by the morning less than 1/2 cm of rain. Still very close so hope yet for a wet!

Wonderful it was actually raining.
Not the promised hours of deluge but for an hours or so it was nice and steady. Plants will love it. It will fatten up my autumn raspberries very nicely. I do believe the plants seem to benefit from water on their leaves.

Heavy rain on Saturday, but it doesn't seem to have made much difference. Everything's still pretty dry. Overcast today, but no rain.

Torrential rain - has been going for hours, Places not far from us are flooded, we can't be far behind. This rain is so heavy! inches of it and several thunderstorms this afternoon. I am sure the forecast said a few heavy showers - this is much more severe.

A few spots yesterday and then a little more during the evening. Just enough to get the slugs excited.
Still dry as a bone below the surface and nothing reached the ground under the trees. Desperate for rain particularly for raspberries. Maybe tomorrow.

Amazing
it is raining.
Looks like it will do more than dampen the surface.
First real rain for weeks.
Maybe 10 weeks
Though I have enjoyed the sunshine.

Yep. Hissing down here, lays the dust I suppose, won't be for long. Big outdoor party to get ready for next weekend. So it can stop now if it wants to.

Near miss with the kiss of death! Local weather station (Crondall) records overnight low of 2.2 deg C
at 06.32 this morning. Is this the lowest?

A little misty first thing, suns come through and it looks like it will be a lovely sunny day, hardly a breeze at the moment.

4 degrees at East Midlands Airport. No sign of frost at home but might be different on the plot.
