R.I.P. Paddington
« on: September 25, 2012, 14:12:04 »
Yesterday all Paddington wanted was for me to cuddle him & really snuggled down in the chair with me, overnight he kept me awake trying to claw at me & crying to be held. This morning he was very wobbly to start with & then couldn't walk at all, the vet had warned me that this could happen, something to do with a clot from his heart breaking off & travelling to the main artery taking blood to the legs. The poor little love had also wet my bed.
There was no option but to take him to the vet for the last time - he just went to sleep in my arms with a little sigh.
I have just buried him beneath the apple tree that he loved to sit by whilst mousing.

Oh Poppy, how I feel for you, at least you have him safe under the tree and you can remember all the good times? He looks a lovely boy, how old was he?

Take care and come back here for support if you need it.

Big, big hugs

How sad - so sorry for what you are feeling at the moment.  It sounds like he had the best life he could have with you, and you did the caring thing in the end.   (((((((hugs))))))))
I love my traditional English Cuckoo Marans and their lovely big brown eggs

Sorry to hear this, Poppy. We've recently had to have our beloved pet put to sleep so I know just how sad you must be feeling.  Hugs to you :) x

Thank you all so much for your support. Today Jemima (my other cat) has been sitting in exactly the same place at the end of the garden where Paddington used to sit, she has never shown any interest in that area before.
