Photo experiment
« on: January 09, 2004, 14:09:26 »
Thought I would try sending a picture, this is my first attempt.

I have looked in the 'help' section for advice and failed to find any.

If what I try to do fails will some kind soul send ,or point me in the right direction;

- can't say what to do if we don't know what you're doing!!

But - why not 'preview' everything, and then you'll know if it's going to work?? And save space. = Tim

Hi,

The images must be linked to another place on the web - I see you have linked to your own computer.

You can place them on your own web site, then show them on here.

Just enclose the address of the web site with [ img ] [ /img ] - without the spaces.

Cheers

Dan

Hello garderner

Having had a look at the img link you posted, you're trying to link from your own pc, and that won't work....

You need to have your photo online already, so maybe go to www.hpphoto.com, click where it says "join hp photo" - upload your pics to an album from your pc

When you've done that, select the pic you want to post by ticking the select box in the album, then under photo tools, select "create link for auction". Click the Highlight Text button and copy the text.

Come back to A4A, then inside your post type then paste the photo ref ie http://www.hpphoto.com/sessions/385511620334/32048575lg.jpg then type

Then preview and post

That should do it....

Good luck :-*

Oh dear what went wrong there. You seemed to have it fine before, now it doesnt work.

Strange. Perhaps without realising it you did something different to before.

I found the tricky bit was after creating your album on net was to use the share album button and key in this web main page.
Then go back to photo click on thumbnail open it and right click to find properties copy the hpp web link and put it in a reply here between [ img ] paste it here without spaces [ /img ] keep going I got there in the end

I am confused,

The pictures are OK on my PC

I have copied my pictures to Yahoo to get my web link

Right clicked on it/them to get 'location' copied location.

Opened up a4a clicked on insert image icon, then inserted picture location thus..... []location[]

And as I say it is all OK at my end. ????????

I really suggest that you put your pictures on Hpphoto. I have tried a few times to get stuff off Yahoo on to here and the only time I succeded the shot was so small as to be useless.
Also never had any success with the Add an Image icon either.
Other difficulty is typing exactly what you need to type tells the site to do it which of course means that YOU cannot see what to type., if you see what I mean.
If you right click on the image in Yahoo and copy the URL (Control + C) then come here and type without any spaces anywhere [ img ]Control + V [ /img ] And preview. Do not write Control + V, but that is of course teaching my grandmother to suck eggs.
If you do got to Hpphoto give a shout if you need any more pointers. Fun int it?

Now that I seem to have succeeded here are the first pictures I sent..............I am unsure if they came through first time round...if they did then I am sorry for the repeat;

This is one side of my back garden;

I don't think the quality at HP is as good as yahoo...........but at least it works.
